21-year-old arrested after San Bernardino traffic stop yields 17 firearms

A San Bernardino police officer stopped a U-Haul over the weekend and recovered 17 weapons, officials said Wednesday.

A San Bernardino police officer stopped a U-Haul truck after "observing various driving offences" on May 22.

Robert Andrew Medina, the driver, was recently detained for a weapons offence.

Officers recovered 7 assault weapons, 9 guns, a shotgun, and 18 high-capacity magazines with miscellaneous ammunition in Medina's truck.

One pistol was taken, while another's serial number was changed, police said.Medina's weaponry and destination are unknown

San Bernardino's Medina was detained on several felony firearms counts. Bail was $500,000.
