Amazon's Kindle shop in China is shutting

Amazon will shut China's Kindle ebook store, according to a message on the company's WeChat account, said Reuters.

Digital Kindle books won't be available in China after June 30, 2023, and Amazon will withdraw its app a year later.

Current subscribers may download previously bought games until June 2024; after that, they'll remain operating but without cloud backup.

Tech giant says action isn't connected to government pressure or censorship.

Amazon is shifting its emphasis. E-commerce, cloud, and advertising will continue throughout the nation.

"We're dedicated to China." Amazon evaluates and adjusts its products globally, a representative told Reuters.
