Cheating at Baccarat: Couple pleads guilty to $500G casino theft

A California couple admitted to grand theft in connection with a gambling scheme that bilked a casino of over $500,000 in cash.

Prosecutors said Eric Nguyen and Khan “Tina” Tran, a husband-and-wife baccarat cheating team at the 580 Casino in Livermore, conspired.

For their part, Nguyen and Tran were sentenced to 240 days in prison and two years of supervised probation.

 They must also pay $507,600 in restitution.The couple was arrested in Texas on May 6, 2020, on California felony warrants.

"Breaking the law is never the right way to succeed," said Attorney General Bonta. "Our state will not tolerate crime.

Bonta announced a $3.5 million judgement against Pong Game Studios Corp. in September.
