Due to a pilot shortage, American Airlines won't fly to three destinations.

American Airlines blames a pilot shortage for abandoning three regional airports.

American Airlines will cease flying to Toledo, Ohio, Ithaca, and Islip, N.Y., on Sept. 7, cutting service to three airports served by smaller airlines hit hard by the pilot shortage.

Only American Airlines serves Toledo, 50 miles south of Detroit.

Due to a regional pilot shortage, American Airlines will stop operations in Islip, Ithaca, and Toledo, Ohio, on Sept. 7.

We're appreciative for the care and service our team members gave in Islip, Ithaca, and Toledo and are working closely with them.

We'll contact clients travelling after this date to provide alternatives.
