Georgia man accused of shooting and killing General Mills worker

Police in Covington say they have a guy in custody following a shooting at the General Mills plant's parking lot.

According to the Newton County Sheriff's Office, Jalen Ivan Brown was detained at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

That's what police told us. By way of an employee, Brown was accused of behaving in an odd manner.

The victim was shot and murdered by Brown when he was approached, according to authorities.
Channel 2 was given the following comment from Mollie Wulff of General Mills:

"A gunshot occurred this morning at our Covington, GA site," the company said.
The suspect was caught by law enforcement. Law enforcement in the area has been cooperating with us.

Brown faces two charges of aggravated assault and one count of murder in connection with the alleged crimes.
