How many potatoes do Israelis eat each day?

Potatoes include carbs, minerals, vitamins, fibre, and protein. They're the fourth most produced and consumed crop after maize, wheat, and rice.

The globe produced 359 million tonnes of potatoes in 2020. China, a potato industry leader, produces 78 million tonnes.

Local food accounts for 222,000 tonnes of Israeli consumption, 97,000 tonnes of industrial raw material, and 22,000 tonnes of potato seeds.

About 48% of Israel's vegetable exports are 169 thousand tonnes.

In Europe, per capita potato consumption is 80 kg, but in Israel it's 35 kg.

Poland, the UK, the Netherlands, and Belgium have 100 kg per capita usage.
