MLB responds to Royals rookie's first HR

Vinnie Pasquantino blasted his first career home run Friday against the Tigers. It's one of MLB's most memorable homers.

Pasquantino blasted a scorching line drive to right. Willi Castro of Detroit fielded and threw to second-baseman Javier Baez. Fun started then.

It's complicated.
Imagine Pasquantino's feelings. He knew he had a base hit as soon as the ball was hit.

Then he was thrown out at second by many feet. Then he realised it was a home run.
Two, although it's lost, Castro's right-field play was excellent

He fielded well and hit Baez good. Pasquantino isn't quick, but he was far off. Even if his play doesn't count, Castro deserves credit.

Baez's 2nd-base gesture was fantastic. It's rare for an opposition player to congratulate a home run.
Pasquantino's future is uncertain. He'll always have one of the sport's most daring first home runs
