MLB starts enforcing ban against Reds pitcher Graham Ashcraft's wedding ring.

Graham Ashcraft was shocked when first-base umpire John Tumpane requested him to remove his wedding band for a foreign material check during Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

On his glove hand, Ashcraft wore a black silicone ring.In his postgame news conference, Ashcraft had his ring back on his left hand.

"I asked why I had to remove my ring. Shouldn't have to. "They made a new regulation yesterday."

Not a new rule, but umpires are already enforcing it.

According to MLB regulation 6.02(c)(7), "cannot connect anything to any hand, any finger, or either wrist."

Umpires decide whether it's alien, but the pitcher can't pitch with it on his hand, finger, or wrist.
