NASA regains touch with CAPSTONE

Advance Space's peer-to-peer navigation technology is in CAPSTONE.NASA lost contact with CAPSTONE after it was deployed Monday.

The lunar orbiter exited low Earth orbit Monday after "communication problems" with the Deep Space Network, NASA said.

The CAPSTONE is coupled to Rocket Lab's Photon upper stage, which moved the orbiter into lunar orbit.

The spacecraft will be a pathfinder for Gateway, a moon-orbiting station that will facilitate long-term human return to the lunar surface.
