NASA's new lunar probe is communicating again, the agency said Wednesday."Mission operators have reestablished communication with CAPSTONE," NASA announced.
"CAPSTONE is back in touch. Happy and healthy, the spaceship. More information, "Advance Space tweets Wednesday.
The lunar orbiter exited low Earth orbit Monday after "communication problems" with the Deep Space Network, NASA said.
The CAPSTONE is coupled to Rocket Lab's Photon upper stage, which moved the orbiter into lunar orbit.
The spacecraft will be a pathfinder for Gateway, a moon-orbiting station that will facilitate long-term human return to the lunar surface.
