NFL reacted to Falcons-Raiders trade

The Las Vegas Raiders' packed wide receiver room became a bit less crowded on Friday. The Raiders reportedly traded receiver Bryan Edwards to the Falcons.

The agreement was first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and confirmed by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Edwards' departure exacerbates the Raiders' already poor 2020 NFL Draft class. Atlanta's decision was well received by NFL fans due to its low-risk nature.

Edwards started 12 of the Raiders' 16 regular season games in 2021. Wes Welker hauled in 34 passes for 571 yards and Edwards caught three catches for 41 yards in Las Vegas

Edwards was part of one of the NFL's deepest receiving units. Hunter Renfrow has over 1,000 receiving yards for Las Vegas in 2021. The Raiders signed Davante Adams and Keelan Cole this summer.

With opposition defenders expected to focus on London and tight end Kyle Pitts, the No. 2 receiver could get plenty of targets.
