Rare Giant Fish Caught in the Ozarks

Troy Staggs was fishing in the Lake of the Ozarks when he got into a 47-minute fight with a lake sturgeon

Staggs caught the fish by tying his line to the fish's tail.

When Staggs finally caught the sturgeon, he discovered it was 4.6 feet long and weighted 50 to 55 pounds.

Staggs dropped the gentle giant back into the lake after taking a few shots.

Sturgeon are extremely rare, and they are one of the world's most endangered species.

The World Wildlife Fund estimates that 23 of the 27 species of sturgeon are critically endangered.
