Trump's NRA address bans guns.

Trump will speak at the NRA's Annual Leadership Forum on Friday. This year's annual gathering is in Houston, but audience members can't carry firearms during his speech.

The seminar is taking place in the wake of Tuesday's school massacre in Uvalde, Texas, that killed 21 people, including 19 pupils.

The NRA said the Secret Service will oversee the venue during Trump's address and ban guns, attachments, and knives. Other things banned include ammunition, laser pointers, toy weapons, and backpacks.

The NRA stated the Secret Service would use magnetometers to screen guests.
This isn't the first time the gun group's annual meeting has banned guns

The Secret Service told NPR at the time that it may prevent weapons from accessing venues frequented by protectees, even in open-carry states.

After the 1999 Columbine High School tragedy, the NRA contemplated cancelling their annual gathering in Denver, but opted against it.
