A BIOS scuba diver demonstrates what occurs when an egg is cracked 60 feet beneath the ocean's surface in the video below.

This film was first released in 2011 as part of BIOS' "Water Moves" series.

The egg does not break open into a gooey mess as you might imagine when the diver smashes it open.

Instead, the sea's pressure preserves the delicate material.
