Controversy over the Academy Awards led to the cancellation of Will Smith's film contracts.

A week after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, Netflix and Sony have cancelled their projects with him.

The CBC reports that all of Smith's upcoming projects have been put on hold as a result of the now-infamous Oscars slap.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Netflix's "Fast and Loose" and Sony's highly anticipated "Bad Boys 4" have been put on hold.

As a result of the Oscars altercation between Smith and Rock, work on previously completed projects has come to a grinding halt.

According to CBC, Smith's publicist, Michael Levine, warned that his behaviour at the Oscars had "deeply damaged" Smith's career.
