World's fastest passenger aeroplane hits supersonic

Monday's presentation of Bombardier's new business aircraft highlighted high speed advancements in the battle

To restore supersonic passenger flights almost two decades after Concorde's retirement.

The Canadian company's Global 8000 will be the world's fastest and longest-range business aircraft.

The next jet will have a range of 8,000 nautical miles (14,800 km) and a peak speed of Mach 0.94, according to Bombardier.
